Octane Index Applicability over the Pressure-Temperature Domain

چکیده

Modern boosted spark-ignition (SI) engines and emerging advanced compression ignition (ACI) operate under conditions that deviate substantially from the of conventional autoignition metrics, namely research motor octane numbers (RON MON). The index (OI) is an metric based on RON MON which was developed to better describe fuel knock resistance over a broader range engine conditions. Prior at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) identified OI performs reasonably well stoichiometric conditions, but inconsistencies exist in ability predict behavior ACI strategies. Instead, operation found correlate more closely composition, suggesting chemistry differences are insensitive tests may become dominant factor these high efficiency operating This investigation builds earlier work study six pressure-temperature (PT) trajectories correspond wide including SI operation, partial stratification (PFS), spark-assisted (SACI). A total 12 different fuels were investigated, Co-Optima core five represent refinery-relevant blending streams. It that, for modes investigated here, low temperature reactions dominate reactivity, similar because their PT lay close trajectory. Additionally, adequately domain, chemical families. finding contrast with prior using type thermodynamic specifically significantly higher start compression, illustrating response depends highly strategy being used.

On the Applicability of Global Index Grammars

We investigate Global Index Grammars (GIGs), a grammar formalism that uses a stack of indices associated with productions and has restricted context-sensitive power. We discuss some of the structural descriptions that GIGs can generate compared with those generated by LIGs. We show also how GIGs can represent structural descriptions corresponding to HPSGs (Pollard and Sag, 1994) schemas.

Influence of Altitude Atmospheric Pressure on Octane Requirement (RESEARCH NOTE).

The normal specifications of motor gasolines as well as their combustion characteristics in internal combustion engines are reviewed in this paper. The effective factors influencing the fuel performance, such as the molecular structure of the fuel constituents, the operating conditions and the atmospheric pressure and temperature are also discussed. A relationship between the optimum octane num...

Applicability domain for classification problems

Classification models are frequent in QSAR modeling. It is of crucial importance to provide good accuracy estimation for classification. Applicability domain provides additional information to identify which compounds are classified with best accuracy and which are expected to have poor and unreliable predictions. The selection of the most reliable predictions can dramatically improve performan...

Applicability of WBGT index in determining the allowable working time in hot climate conditions

Introduction: Heat stress is a critical problem in hot industries, especially in incredibly hot climates. It can greatly impair the work process and put the health of workers at risk. This study aims to investigate the applicability of the WBGT index in determining the allowable working time in very hot weather conditions in one of the steel industries in Ahvaz. Material and Methods: This stud...

Difficult intubation in children: applicability of the Mallampati index.

BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES The concern of facing difficult airways brought the need of developing predictive testing for difficult intubation. Those tests were developed primarily for adult populations. In pediatric patients studies always focus on patients with congenital malformation, polytraumatized, and newborns. The objective of the present study was to determine the applicability of the pr...
